SOLEA PFEIFFER is currently starring as Myrtle Wilson in the American Repertory Theatre’s world premiere production of the highly anticipated new musical, Gatsby: An American Myth, from Florence Welch. She was most recently seen on Broadway as Eurydice in the Tony-winning musical Hadestown. Last year Solea starred as Ophelia in Shakespeare in the Park’s Hamlet directed by Kenny Leon. Solea made her Broadway debut originating the iconic role of Penny Lane in Almost Famous, and made her feature film debut in Tyler Perry’s A Jazzman’s Blues with Netflix. Solea completed a sold-out run of her solo show You Are Here, which she wrote and starred in for Audible Theater, it is available for streaming on the Audible platform. Solea starred in the title role of New York City Center’s revival of Evita, and starred opposite Renee Fleming in The Light in the Piazza at the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Prior to that she was seen in the criIcally acclaimed run of Jason Robert Brown’s Songs for a New World (New York City Center Encores! Off-Center), Sondheim On Sondheim (Hollywood Bowl), and as Eliza in the West Coast premiere of Hamilton. Solea also starred in the world premiere of the musical Gun & Powder at the Signature Theatre and as Maria in the LA Philharmonic/Gustavo Dudamel Hollywood Bowl production of West Side Story, later reprising the role in Steven Reinecke’s National Symphony Orchestra production at the Kennedy Center. On television, Solea has recurred on The Good Fight and appeared in one of the final episodes of ABC’s Scandal.
