Woodwind player Steve Kenyon currently plays in the Sweeney Todd orchestra; his prior Broadway credits include Titanic, Oklahoma, Wonderful Town, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Curtains, Little Mermaid, La Cage, How to Succeed, Porgy and Bess, Annie, Matilda, Hello Dolly, Mean Girls and Music Man. He plays each year for the Tony Awards and the Kennedy Center Honors. Other TV credits include Smash, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Schmigadoon, and many Lincoln Center events, late night shows and jingles.
He is a regular extra with the New York Philharmonic, and has also apppeared with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra. In addition he has played with the big bands of Maria Schneider, Toshiko Akiyoshi and Ted Nash. He plays soprano in and leads the NY Saxophone Quartet. Film – West Side Story (2021 with the NY Phil), Hollywoodland, Hail Caesar!, What Just Happened (also co- orchestrator). He has performed his original music at the Blue Note, Carnegie Recital Hall, Birdland and live on WNYC radio, and can be heard on recordings with such artists as Barbara Cook, Audra McDonald, Judy Collins, Gil Evans Project, Gotham Jazz Orchestra and Tony Trishka.
